An overnight adventure at Kalanggaman Island

Social media has indeed held powerful means of information specifically on different places to visit. It was summer and all i saw on my FB timeline were summer escapades of my friends. There's this  place where it seemed to outplay other destinations in 2015 along Visayas region - Kalanggaman Island. Yes, almost everyday, everyone posted his photos in Kalanggaman in Facebook. This made me wanna go to this destination too. I got lucky that i saw my friend's post in FB about his Team's plan in going to Kalanggaman. I insisted to join his team. Yehey!

We started our trip at 5:30AM at the Cebu North Bus Terminal traveling on a Cere Bus bound for Hagnaya. After 3 hours of land trip, we finally arrived at the bus terminal of Bogo. We dropped off and headed to Metro Supermarket Bogo to grab some food.

Our drop off point for Kalanggaman was at Nailon Port Bogo, just a 10-minute tricycle ride from the Bogo bus terminal. We had to wait until 11:30AM for the other groups to arrive. Yes, there were 60+ of us on this adventure.

Posing at the Nailon port.

It was one sunny day when our boat started to sail to our destination. The sun was up so bright making the sky and the sea truly beautiful and instagram worthy.

Survivor-ish feel in the boat.

We sailed for an hour and 30 minutes prior to reaching the paradise of Leyte - Kalanggaman Island. I was surprised to see how crowded the island was. Countless tents were set-up and the loud noise from people enjoying the summer break was all over the island. Not too bad. After all, i love huge crowd.

The difficult part of having to stay overnight in the island is its lack of electricity. Also, fresh water was not available in the island so we barely didn't take a shower overnight. Haha, that was quiet an experience, huh. There were cottages for rent but due to the massive number of tourists, we were not able to get one. I wasn't really able to use a toilet there as i didn't find one. Maybe i just really didn't bother looking for one as most of the people had to pee in the see (too bad huh).

Here are the photos of my Kalanggaman trip.

The other side of the island...Rocky and less crowded.

Beautiful sunset.
