Heaven on Earth: Plantation Bay Resort and Spa (Part I)

09.25.13. What a beautiful day to embrace in paradise. Not only that this day marked my 25th birthday, i also was courageous enough to shell outa big amount just to stay at Plantation Bay Resort and Spa.

Join me as i bring you to an extra-ordinary experience with an extra-ordinary haven. Plantation Bay Resort and Spa is a 5-star resort oozing with luxurious accommodation and man made lagoons.

There were few options to go to Plantation Bay from Cebu City center, but the easiest one is via cab. Since it was my birthday, i choose to go be more adventurous and took the road less travelled. Well, not just a road though as i took the Mactan jetty right at Pier 3 in Cebu. The ferry had a trip to Mactan at a 15-minute interval daily. It docked at Mactan jetty terminal which is just few steps from the famous church - Birhen sa Regla. I was joined with my best bud, Crisly. There we took a moment to pray. After offering a candle we hailed a cab to bring us to Plantation Bay. It was still around 11AM when we arrived at the resort and good thing early check in was available. Standard check-in time is at 3PM, good thing it was not a weekend.

Mediteranean inspired lobby.

Check in counter with very accomodating staff.
Right after we checked in and on our way to our poolside room, we were greeted with this picturesque view of the resort! Awesome man made salt lagoon.

Our pool side room.
Room interior. Look, they had complimentary basket of Cebu delicacies.
Minutes after the room attendant brought us to our room, i heard a knock. When i opened the door, a beautiful resort staff smiled and greeted me a happy birthday with a cake on her hand. Wow! how thoughtful of them. Truly a five star service. They really paid attention to every detail of my reservation. I remember in our email exchanges when i booked the room online, i mentioned i was to celebrate my birthday in their resort.

Right after we've settled our things up, we wasted no time. We explored the 11.4-hectare resort.
What a peaceful place good for yoga and even just for relaxation. One could try fishing on this pond.
